Okay, this strange looking shade is the Aladdin Whip-o-Lite shade No. 386-rose from 1948. You see a rose? Me either, but that's the designation for it.
I know that Aladdin used the color of the design to designate the color of the shade, so since there is only one color on this shade I guess they chose to call it "rose". I'm not sure what the design was supposed to represent but maybe that's why it only appears in a brochure from 1948 and doesn't appear again in 1949!
